How lead access works.

What it costs, what you see before paying, and how many agencies get each brief - answered from the rules the board enforces.

- What it costs

$100/yr to be on the board. Then pay per brief.

Two separate charges, and nothing else. The $100/yr subscription is what puts your agency in front of client briefs. The unlock fee is a one-off charge on a single brief, priced against the budget that client stated - so pitching a $4,000 site never costs what pitching a $300,000 platform costs.

Unlock fee, by the client’s stated budget
Client budget on the briefOne-off unlock fee
Under $5,000$49
$5,000 – $25,000$149
$25,000 – $75,000$499
$75,000 – $250,000$1,499
$250,000+$2,999

You see the exact fee on the brief before you pay it. No commission on work you win, no charge for briefs you skip, and no minimum spend. If you would rather have unlocks bundled in, Silver ($1,500/yr) includes 2 per year and Gold ($5,000/yr) includes 8 per year on top of a public profile - compare the tiers.

- Before and after you pay

You read the project for free. You pay for the client.

Every brief matched to your agency is fully readable at no cost, minus the client’s identity. That is enough to judge whether the project is worth your time - the fee only ever buys contact.

○ Locked · free

On every matched brief, before you spend anything.

  • Project type - e.g. web application, mobile application, e-commerce build
  • Every service the client asked for
  • Budget band the client selected
  • Timeline - ASAP, 1–3 months, 3–6 months, 6+ months or flexible
  • Client's industry
  • Preferred country and city, and whether they will work remotely
  • The opening of the brief itself - first 280 characters
  • When the brief was matched to you, and the date your pitch window closes
  • How many of the 5 unlock spots are already taken

● Unlocked · one-off fee

Released the moment payment clears - see below.

  • The full brief, not the 280-character opening
  • Client contact name
  • Client email address
  • Client phone number, when they gave one
  • Company name
  • Company website
  • The pitch form - send your intro, price range and timeline through the site

Contact details are released immediately, not on acceptance

This is the question we get asked most, so to be unambiguous: nothing is held back pending the client’s approval. As soon as the payment clears, the client’s name, email, phone, company and website appear on the brief and are emailed to you. You can contact them directly. You can also send a structured pitch - intro, price range, timeline - through the site, and the client is notified which agencies unlocked their brief, but that notification is a courtesy to them, not a gate on you.

- How many agencies you compete with

5 agencies per brief. Hard cap, not a guideline.

A brief is never sold to more than 5 agencies. The locked card shows you how many of the 5 spots are already taken before you pay, so you always know what you are buying into - a brief with four spots gone is a different proposition from a fresh one. The 6th agency to try is refused by the server, not quietly charged.

You then have 7 days from the match email to unlock and pitch. After that the window closes and the brief leaves your board, whether or not all 5 spots sold.

- Filtering and targeting

You don’t filter a feed. Briefs are matched to you.

There is no open marketplace to search and no filter bar, and we would rather say so plainly than imply otherwise. Your profile is the filter: the services you select (up to six) and your country and city decide which briefs reach you, and you only ever see briefs matched to your agency. Change those on your profile at any time and matching follows.

Per-brief, you choose freely. Budget band, every service requested, project type, timeline, industry, the client’s country and city, whether they will work remotely, and the spots already taken are all on the locked card. Nothing is charged until you decide a specific brief is worth the fee.

- Lead volume

We don’t publish volume figures. Ask us for yours.

The brief board is a young part of this site. Quoting an average “briefs per month” would tell you almost nothing about what your agency would see, and we are not going to invent a number to sell a $100/yr subscription.

So, plainly: $100/yr buys access to the board, not a guaranteed quantity of briefs. Before you pay anything, email support@webdesignawards.io with the project types and regions you care about - web applications, mobile applications, e-commerce, wherever you work - and we will send you the real current figures for those categories. If the answer is “not many in yours yet,” you will hear that from us rather than find it out after checkout.

- Sample briefs

What a locked brief actually looks like.

Four worked examples, in the format you would see on your board. These are illustrations, not live client briefs - even a stripped-down real brief can identify the company that wrote it - but the fields, the length of the free preview and the line where the lock falls are exactly what the product does. For genuine current briefs in your categories, ask us at support@webdesignawards.io.

- In short

The 7 questions agencies email us

How much does each lead unlock cost?

The unlock fee is set by the budget the client stated on their brief, so a small project never costs the same to pitch as a large one: Under $5,000 costs $49; $5,000 – $25,000 costs $149; $25,000 – $75,000 costs $499; $75,000 – $250,000 costs $1,499; $250,000+ costs $2,999. It is a one-off card charge per brief, and you see the exact fee on the brief before you pay it. There is no commission on work you win, and no charge for briefs you decide to skip. The $100/yr Leads Only subscription is separate - it is what puts you on the board in the first place.

What information can we see before paying to unlock a lead?

Every brief matched to you is visible for free, with everything except the client's identity: project type - e.g. web application, mobile application, e-commerce build; every service the client asked for; budget band the client selected; timeline - ASAP, 1–3 months, 3–6 months, 6+ months or flexible; client's industry; preferred country and city, and whether they will work remotely; the opening of the brief itself - first 280 characters; when the brief was matched to you, and the date your pitch window closes; how many of the 5 unlock spots are already taken. That is deliberately enough to decide whether the project is worth pitching for. What the fee buys is contact: the full brief, not the 280-character opening; client contact name; client email address; client phone number, when they gave one; company name; company website; the pitch form - send your intro, price range and timeline through the site.

Are client contact details released immediately after unlock, or only after the client accepts our pitch?

Immediately. The moment the payment clears, the client's name, email, phone, company and website appear on the brief and are emailed to you as well. Nothing is conditional on the client responding, accepting a pitch, or approving you. You can also send a structured pitch through the site, and the client is told which agencies have unlocked their brief - but that is a notification, not a gate.

How many agencies can unlock and pitch each brief?

A hard maximum of 5. The brief page shows how many of the 5 spots are already taken before you pay, and the 6th attempt to unlock is refused by the server rather than sold. Matched agencies get 7 days from the match email to pitch, after which the window closes.

Can we filter leads by budget, service, location and project type?

Not as a search filter, because this is not an open marketplace you browse - briefs are matched to you. Your services and location on your agency profile drive the matching, and you only ever see briefs matched to your agency. You then choose brief by brief which ones to pay for: budget band, services requested, project type, timeline and client location are all shown on the locked card before any charge. If you want different briefs, edit the services and location on your profile and matching follows.

How many Web Application / Mobile App briefs have you received in the past 30 days?

We do not publish volume figures and we do not promise a number of leads - the brief board is a young part of the site and quoting an average would misrepresent what any one agency sees. What we will do is tell you the real, current figures for your project types and region before you pay anything: email support@webdesignawards.io with the categories you care about and we will send what we actually have. The $100/yr subscription buys access to the board, not a guaranteed quantity of briefs, and we would rather you knew that before signing up than after.

Can we see sample briefs before we buy Leads Only?

Yes. /agencies/leads-only shows worked examples of briefs in the exact locked format you would see on the board, so you can judge the level of detail before spending anything. They are written illustrations rather than live client briefs, because even an anonymized real brief can identify the company that wrote it. For genuine current briefs in your categories, email support@webdesignawards.io and we will walk you through what is on the board.

Still unsure whether it is worth $100/yr for your agency? Email support@webdesignawards.io and ask before you buy - that is what it is there for.
